DEFLEKT Decisions

Every open question, with the art needed to answer it. A verdict is written to this site's own verdict store and then read back — a card only turns green when the store hands it back. Nothing here says "sent".

DO NOT BUILD - you already own it

MINT COURIER DRONE - already drawn

NOT ANSWERED

The list proposed building this. It already exists and is canon-perfect: egg-shaped polished gold, one cyan lens, red equator strip lights, folded legs, underside coin hatch. Three views on a plain backdrop. It has simply never been registered, so the gate cannot attach it - that is the only thing wrong with it. Approve and it becomes usable for nothing. Related fix already made: the folder named delivery-pod holds scroll cases, not a pod. I had registered it under the wrong name; corrected.

My recommendation: REGISTER

BUILD LIST - what to spend credits on

1. TOWN MASTER - first light

NOT ANSWERED

Top priority because it is a PARENT: every day-state street and district plate below it inherits its light. We do own morn_town.png, shown, and its camera and geography are right - but the lantern strings are LIT in a dawn state, which breaks the two-state palette law, and your own animation audit already convicted this exact file for it. The fix is surgical: same camera, same skyline, lanterns matte and unlit.

My recommendation: BUILD

2. FARMHOUSE KITCHEN - interior

NOT ANSWERED

The only item on the list that repairs a SHIPPED defect: CH10-12 drew a different kitchen than CH10-11 did twenty seconds earlier, with an electric bulb and a refrigerator in a lantern-age world. Everything we own is exterior, shown, and the kettle sheet is a prop, not a room. Two scripts already stage indoors here.

My recommendation: BUILD

3. OSSIE'S BAKERY - inside

NOT ANSWERED

CH16's till scene plays entirely at Ossie's counter, with Darren silent beside it. All three candidates are exteriors, shown - the only interior anywhere in the set is the loaves glimpsed through the shop window. Isolated room only, with no Ossie on the sheet: he has his own approved turnaround and gets composed in afterwards.

My recommendation: BUILD

4. CHILDREN - two, about 7 and 11

NOT ANSWERED

There is not one child in any approved sheet, and the canon files contain no word for child, kid, boy or girl. The townsfolk plate, shown, is four adults. A town with no child on screen reads as a set rather than a place - and CH21's grey girl on the balcony lane already needs one. Cheapest sheet here, largest effect on lived-in.

My recommendation: BUILD

5. TOWN MASTER - dusk

NOT ANSWERED

The right hour and the right subject sit in two different pictures: market_v5 is genuinely dusk but it is the SQUARE, with no mesa and no Ring in frame; townring_3, shown, is the master but deep night. Build the dusk state of townring_3's exact composition, with dusk in the SKY only - a warm orange sunset would invent a forbidden third palette state.

My recommendation: BUILD

6. FISHER, VENDOR, ELDER WOMAN

NOT ANSWERED

The townsfolk plate, shown, is a four-figure GROUP, so it cannot be attached to get one isolated person into a shot. And on inspection its fisher is a young labourer carrying a gaff, and its vendor is a shopper carrying produce home - neither is at work. Keep the bearded man in the beanie as the male elder. The new elder woman must look deliberately unlike Petra, or the model will simply draw Petra.

My recommendation: BUILD

7. ROOFTOP ROUTE - Holly's shortcut

NOT ANSWERED

Two beats already ask for it, including her own intro line about thirty rooftops. Worth saying why it is urgent rather than nice-to-have: BOTH existing candidates, shown, draw PITCHED TILE ROOFS - an explicit Solmara NEVER, and exactly what got the old market plate denied. So approved-looking art currently teaches the wrong roof in the one shot where roof geometry IS the subject. Needs a dawn plate and a doused-night sibling.

My recommendation: BUILD

8. TERRACED CROPS behind the farm

NOT ANSWERED

Genuinely new - every candidate is a blossom orchard on flat ground. But it exists only as narration prose so far, and canon fixes the orchard as the porch's view. One line from you locks where the fields actually sit before credits are spent.

My recommendation: BUILD

9. TOWN MASTER - storm

NOT ANSWERED

Recommending DEFER, against the list. I had every script and outline searched: there is no storm beat anywhere in E1-E5 or the CH13-CH21 break. This would be a weather master with no scene to spend it on. When a beat does exist, build it from the island master - the doused plates, shown, have no sea in frame at all.

My recommendation: DEFER

DECIDE THIS BEFORE ANY CREDITS

THE WELL / CISTERN - cut it?

NOT ANSWERED

Recommending we CUT this from the list. Canon already answers the town's water: a spring-fed canal stepping down through the terraces, plus the approved fountain, shown, at the centre of the square - and the festival shot already stages a bucket rising from that fountain. A second draw-point in a small town is an unanchored landmark that later gets attached to the wrong shot. Your call, not mine.

My recommendation: CUT IT

DOES SOLMARA HAVE A HARBOUR - and where?

NOT ANSWERED

This one blocks four items: docks, boats, nets and the fish stall. The geography file has NO harbour and no docks anywhere in it, and the only approved waterline is the orchard shore - a pebble tideline with a single short jetty stub. So this is a MAP decision, not an art one, and the world-plate law forbids inventing a district inside a shot. My read: put it on the west or southwest face where the canal reaches the sea, which gives it a reason to exist and keeps it clear of the orchard shore. The honest alternative is that Solmara has no harbour at all and the boats simply beach.

My recommendation: WEST FACE, AT THE CANAL MOUTH

THE THREE SHEETS THE OTHER SESSION ALREADY MADE

FISHING BOATS - the sheet from the other session

NOT ANSWERED

Three good designs, properly isolated: a rowing dory, a single-mast netter with a patched sail, and a trap-hauler stacked with wicker traps. The problem is style, not design. It was prompted for a neon arcade game's identity - that is the GAME's look - so everything carries cyan and magenta rim-light. The series is painted teal and violet with ink linework. Same three designs, re-rolled in series style.

My recommendation: RE-ROLL IN SERIES STYLE

FISHING GEAR - the sheet from the other session

NOT ANSWERED

Right form - isolated props on a plain plate - but the rope, the wicker traps and the dead fish are all rimmed in neon cyan and magenta. Those things do not glow. Compare the approved kettle, satchel and coin sheets, which are painted objects in natural materials on a plain ground.

My recommendation: RE-ROLL IN SERIES STYLE

HARBOUR DISTRICT - the sheet from the other session

NOT ANSWERED

A genuinely beautiful picture, and I am sorry to say it breaks canon three ways: PITCHED TILE ROOFS, where Solmara is cubic and flat-roofed and pitched roofs are an explicit NEVER; AMBER lantern strings, where the town's strings are PINK and never yellow; and grey-blue stone instead of teal-green. That session had no access to the canon file, so it could not have known. It also cannot be finalised until the harbour map question above is answered.

My recommendation: REJECT - REBUILD AFTER THE MAP RULING

THE LIST MISSED THESE

THE GREY - harvested townsfolk

NOT ANSWERED

The biggest hole found, and it was not on the list. Approved/gray-world/ is a registered folder with ZERO files in it - yet grey people carry five chapters: four hundred grey refugees off nine boats, grey Ossie sorting coins by size because size is the only sort he has left, four hundred grey in the undercroft, a grey girl holding up a chalked TEN. It is a STATE sheet: the same island clothes and the same faces with the colour taken out - alive, unhurt, and very quiet.

My recommendation: BUILD

no image

THE UNDERCROFT - shelter for four hundred

NOT ANSWERED

Not on the list, and not what we own. The keeper's shelter on disk is a single small stone hut with a plank door and a woodpile - room for one man. The story needs a large vaulted rock space under the town holding four hundred people: Momma Jo takes it over without being asked, it is full when the sky opens on three sides, and it becomes permanent at the end. Two sheets that must never be swapped.

My recommendation: BUILD

no image

THE CHALK COLUMN on the stair wall

NOT ANSWERED

Approved/keepers-stair/ is empty. The chalked count closes CH13, returns in CH18, changes meaning in CH20 when Petra takes the chalk and it stops counting days between raids and starts counting days John has been standing, and pays off in CH21. The viewer is meant to READ it, which makes it a countable asset - it has to be prompted stroke by stroke, the way the lamps finally were, never as a column of numbers.

My recommendation: BUILD

no image

THE LANE KIT - how a town with no weapons fights

NOT ANSWERED

The most Solmara-specific asset anywhere on this list, and nobody proposed it. CH20's big night is planks, stone, water, wet sail-cloth, and not one scrap of Ring-light in any lane. Approved/war-props/ holds exactly one file, and it is a map. This is orchard ladders, boat planks, water butts, wet sailcloth on poles, fish-crates as barricades - the town fighting with its own working gear, which is the argument the whole chapter is making.

My recommendation: BUILD

THE PATCHED MANTA - boat-hull plate

NOT ANSWERED

You have already seen this drift and named it yourself: they bolted wood on the ship and that is fine, but it does not always look the same image to image. The reason is structural. The patched hull is a DESIGN STATE that the Manta reference sheet does not contain at all, so every frame from CH13 onward is an extrapolation - which is exactly the mechanism behind those divergences. It needs a patched-state sheet on the reference plate, not a sentence in a prompt.

My recommendation: BUILD

THE DOME - Ring One lit over the island

NOT ANSWERED

CH19's closing image and CH20's entire spine: an island-sized lantern with red fire breaking on it like surf, walked down glyph by glyph, with forty glyphs countable from any terrace. What we own, shown, is the Ring itself - not a field over an island. This is world-plate scale and has to reconcile with the island master. Forty is load-bearing, so it has to be walked, not named.

My recommendation: BUILD
